Waterfront dining, Gulf-inspired dishes, cocktails and live music come together at one of Downtown Panama City’s most scenic restaurants.

There are plenty of places around Bay County to grab seafood, but few put you quite as close to the heart of Downtown Panama City’s waterfront as Harrison's Kitchen & Bar. Located at 5 Harrison Avenue, beside the Panama City Marina, Harrison’s combines Southern coastal cooking with sweeping views across St. Andrews Bay.

The restaurant describes its style simply as “casual Southern coastal cuisine,” and that is a pretty good summary of what diners can expect: familiar Southern flavors mixed with seafood influences that feel right at home along Florida’s Gulf Coast.

A Waterfront Setting Made for Panama City

Part of Harrison’s appeal begins before the food reaches the table. Large windows bring the bay into the dining room, while covered and open-air patio seating gives guests the opportunity to enjoy the breeze and waterfront scenery outside.

The building itself incorporates brick, wood flooring and industrial touches inspired by the history of the Panama City Marina. The result feels polished without becoming overly formal, a restaurant that works just as well for lunch with friends as it does for date night, a family dinner or an evening watching the sun settle over the bay.

Even the restaurant's name connects to local history. According to Harrison’s, “Harrison” was an early name associated with the community that eventually became Panama City, while Harrison Avenue remains one of Downtown Panama City’s signature streets and leads directly toward the restaurant and waterfront.

Gulf Seafood Meets Southern Comfort

The menu leans into the combination you would hope to find at a Northwest Florida waterfront restaurant: seafood, Southern favorites and approachable coastal dishes.

Diner favorites and frequently praised offerings have included southern smothered pork loin, grouper, shrimp, oysters, shrimp and grits, seafood appetizers and Southern-style sides. Harrison’s has also developed a particularly strong reputation among guests seeking gluten-free choices, including several seafood and comfort-food options that can sometimes be difficult to find at traditional coastal restaurants.

And don't overlook the bar. Harrison’s features a full-service bar, making it an easy stop for cocktails, wine or a cold drink overlooking the marina.

Happy Hour, Live Music & Sunday Brunch

Harrison’s isn't only about dinner.

The restaurant currently promotes live music on Wednesdays from 5:30–8:30 p.m., Fridays from 6–9 p.m. and Sundays from 10:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. It also offers weekday happy hour specials from 3-6 p.m., although specials can change, so checking the restaurant's current event schedule before visiting is a good idea.

Sunday brings another reason to visit the waterfront: brunch from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. with some breakfast menu items. The American, Chicken & Velvet Waffles, Benny In A Hole, & Omelets.

Worth Adding to Your Panama City Foodie List

What makes Harrison’s stand out isn't one single plate. It's the complete experience, good coastal food, drinks, live entertainment and one of Downtown Panama City's best waterfront locations.

Come for seafood and Southern flavor, grab a table overlooking St. Andrews Bay, order something cold from the bar and give yourself time to enjoy the view. That's the kind of meal that reminds you why eating local in Panama City can be just as much about where you are as what's on your plate.
