La Pera’s Sweet Shop Brings New York Bagels, Ice Cream and Homemade Treats to Lynn Haven |
From morning bagels and cinnamon rolls to towering sundaes and ice cream sandwiches, La Pera’s Sweet Shop is giving Bay County foodies plenty of reasons to stop by. |

There’s a sweet little spot in Lynn Haven where breakfast cravings and dessert cravings can happily coexist. La Pera’s Sweet Shop, located at 529 Ohio Avenue, combines the nostalgia of an old-fashioned neighborhood ice cream shop with New York-style bagels, baked treats and over-the-top desserts.
The idea behind La Pera’s is about more than simply serving something sweet. The shop says its mission is to bring families together through timeless treats and create a place where kids, parents and grandparents can share the familiar tradition of going out for ice cream. Its playful patriotic theme carries throughout the brand with phrases like “Celebrating Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Ice Cream” and “United We Scoop.”
Come for the Ice Cream — Stay for the Bagels
Ice cream may get top billing, but one of La Pera’s most interesting foodie twists is its New York bagel program.
Rather than simply making a New York-inspired bagel, the shop says its bagels are actually prepared in New York, par-baked and frozen before being shipped to Lynn Haven. La Pera’s then finishes baking them fresh at the shop, producing the traditional combination of a slightly crisp exterior and chewy center.
Bagel selections have included favorites such as plain, everything, cinnamon raisin, onion, poppy and pumpernickel, with regular or flavored cream cheese options. Flavored spreads found on delivery menus have included combinations such as jalapeño cheddar, bacon-cheddar-chive, strawberry and honey brown sugar.
Pair one with coffee and you’ve got a distinctly New York-style breakfast without leaving Bay County.
Save Room for Something Sweet
Of course, this is still a sweet shop.
La Pera’s Sweet Shop features ice cream along with sundaes, ice cream sandwiches, milkshakes and other specialty dessert creations. Ice cream nachos have also emerged as one of the more fun choices mentioned by customers.
Then there are the baked treats.
Cookies, brownies and cinnamon rolls are among the shop’s offerings, with La Pera’s putting particular emphasis on its warm, soft cinnamon rolls as a breakfast favorite.
That combination makes the shop somewhat unusual: you can visit in the morning for a bagel and coffee, return later for a baked treat, or make an evening stop for ice cream.
A Local Lynn Haven Treat Stop
La Pera’s describes itself as a gathering place built around family, nostalgia and simple pleasures, the kind of neighborhood spot where getting ice cream becomes part of the memory rather than just another dessert run.
For Panhandle Fork foodies looking for somewhere new to satisfy both their breakfast and dessert cravings, La Pera’s Sweet Shop is certainly worth putting on the list.

First stop when family visits from out of town!
Has anyone tried the jalapeño cheddar spread? Spicy or mild?
Wish we had this growing up in Lynn Haven
Saw the cinnamon rolls on Instagram, they look amazing
My kids will love this place. Ice cream after soccer practice!
Hoping they do late hours for an ice cream night run
Highly recommend the everything bagel, had one last week!
Anyone else nostalgic for mom-and-pop shops like this? Reminds me of growing up in a small town.
I walked in for coffee and left with a brownie the size of my face. Mission accomplished.
The patriotic theme is cute but is it just decorations?
Curious if their cinnamon rolls beat out the ones at Bay Bakery
Not a fan of desserts in the morning but bagels and coffee sound perfect
Strawberry cream cheese spread is out of this world. I wish they’d sell tubs of it!
Bacon-cheddar-chive spread sounds like it could be addicting
Soft cinnamon rolls in the morning and ice cream floats in the evening. Dangerous combo if you live nearby!
We need more neighborhood places where all ages feel welcome
Wasn't expecting bagels with my ice cream, but I'm here for it
Finally, a place that isn’t a chain. Lynn Haven needed more options. Keep it up, La Pera’s!
Prices are a little high for baked goods, but it’s a treat. Staff was really sweet with my picky son.
It’s way cuter inside than you’d think from the outside. All those red, white, and blue touches.
Taste tested all the bagels. Everything bagel wins. Highly recommend the bacon cheddar chive spread too.
Wish their hours were posted out front. Drove by once and they were closed! Still waiting to try it.
Too many choices! Might have to go twice in one day
That 'United We Scoop' is kinda corny but fun
No Dairy Queen for us anymore. My daughter only wants La Pera’s birthday parties now.
Hope they have dairy free ice cream options
I saw “ice cream nachos” and my brain short-circuited. Genius idea, or too much? Anyone tried them yet?
“United We Scoop” made me smile. It’s goofy but fun. Hope they start a loyalty program.
The cinnamon rolls are where it’s at. My grandma said it reminds her of bakeries when she was a kid.
I don’t really get the hype. Bagels were fine, but I grew up in NY and it’s just not the same.
Love that they’re open morning till evening. Not many spots in Lynn Haven you can do both breakfast AND dessert. Try the coffee with your bagel!
Stopped by after the football game, bagels were already sold out. Guess they go fast! Gotta get up earlier next time.
Got a sundae there last weekend and it was enormous. Fun place for dessert. Don’t go if you’re on a diet lol.
Bagels from NY shipped here? That’s some dedication. Anyone know if they have vegan cream cheese spreads?
Jalapeño cheddar cream cheese on a pumpernickel bagel… don’t knock it till you try it, folks.
Wish they had more gluten free treats, but those brownies smell amazing!! Craving one right now.
Glad there’s a non-chain spot on Ohio Ave again. Friendly people behind the counter, too.
Patriotic theme is a bit much for a sweet shop IMO, but can’t deny the ice cream is good.
My kids love this place! We always get cinnamon rolls in the morning before school. They’re so soft and gooey.
La Pera’s bagels are legit. Not easy to find a REAL chewy bagel around here. Worth the stop for breakfast.
Ice cream nachos? Never heard of that before, but I gotta try it. Anyone got flavor recs?
Family loves sundaes, adding to our weekend list
Wish they made the bagels right there not just shipped in but still sounds good
Glad it's on Ohio Ave! Easy to stop by after school
Never had pumpernickel, curious now
Plain bagel and strawberry cream cheese please
Always looking for fresh cinnamon rolls around here
Love a spot that does coffee and dessert
Gotta try the bagels!
Ice cream nachos sound wild
