When you see the Barefoot name along Front Beach Road, it is easy to assume the two restaurants offer essentially the same experience. They do share plenty, fresh seafood, burgers, tropical drinks, Gulf views and live entertainment, but there are some important differences between Barefoot Hide-A-Way and Barefoot On The Beach. 

The easiest way to remember it? Hide-A-Way is the breakfast-and-beachfront-deck choice, while On The Beach adds a swimming pool and more of a poolside beach-party atmosphere.

Barefoot Hide-A-Way: Start With Breakfast

Located at 15405 Front Beach Road, Barefoot Hide-A-Way sits Gulf-front on the west end of Panama City Beach, not far from the Pier Park area. Its open-air deck gives diners a clear view of the water, making it an easy place to settle in with coffee in the morning or a frozen drink as the sun starts dropping.

This is the Barefoot location to remember if breakfast is part of the plan. The restaurant's current menu includes breakfast from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m., with choices such as the Barefoot Classic with eggs, bacon or sausage and potatoes, a Breakfast Burrito, Biscuits and Gravy, Banana Foster Pancakes, Corned Beef Hash, Shrimp and Grits, and Southern-style Chicken and Waffles. 

Later in the day, the menu shifts toward beach-food favorites. Expect seafood, sandwiches, burgers and shareable appetizers. Barefoot's menus feature dishes such as Firecracker Shrimp, Gator Bites, smoked fish dip, Gulf shrimp platters, fish sandwiches and tacos. 

Hide-A-Way does not have the signature pool found at the other Barefoot location. Its attraction is the traditional Gulf-front restaurant experience: outdoor dining, beach views, drinks and music.

Live entertainment is part of the experience as well. Barefoot's 2026 event listings have included musicians performing at Hide-A-Way, particularly during afternoon and sunset hours. Because performers and dates change, checking Barefoot's event calendar before visiting is worthwhile. 

Barefoot On The Beach: Food, Drinks and a Pool

Head east to 11073 Front Beach Road and the personality changes.

Barefoot On The Beach is also beachfront, but this location brings something extra to the table: an onsite swimming pool. The restaurant describes the experience as a place where guests can enjoy food and drinks, then cool off in the pool while taking in the beach atmosphere. 

That makes On The Beach especially appealing to families or groups who want to stretch lunch into an afternoon hangout.

Unlike Hide-A-Way, the location's published hours currently list lunch and dinner beginning at 11:00 a.m., so Hide-A-Way is the safer choice when you're specifically looking for a Barefoot breakfast. 

The current On The Beach menu is packed with casual vacation food. Start with Firecracker Shrimp, Gator Bites, fried pickles, smoked fish dip or Barefoot Nachos. Main choices include a Barefoot Burger, Gulf Fish Sandwich, Fish and Chips, a Gulf Shrimp Platter and shrimp, chicken or fish tacos topped with mango-jalapeño slaw.

Don't Forget the Drinks

Both Barefoot experiences lean heavily into tropical drinks and cold beer. On the current drink menu you'll find the Mango “My” Tai, Paradise Punch, Barefoot Margarita and Summer Squeeze, along with frozen Piña Coladas, Strawberry or Mango Daiquiris, Miami Vices and the chocolatey, rum-filled Bushwhacker. Draft beer, canned beer, seltzers and wine round out the selection.

And yes, Barefoot On The Beach has live music too. Recent 2026 listings have featured performers including Sarah Whitehead, Evan Barber, Kevin Johnson and Noah Swanson, along with occasional karaoke events. 

So, Which Barefoot Fits Your Day?

If you're craving breakfast with Gulf views, an open-air deck and a more traditional beachfront restaurant experience, head to Barefoot Hide-A-Way.

If your idea of vacation dining includes lunch, tropical cocktails, live music and jumping into a pool just steps from the beach, Barefoot On The Beach has the edge.

Either way, both restaurants keep things unmistakably Panama City Beach: casual food, cold drinks, Gulf breezes and absolutely no reason to dress up.
